I went with a coworker to see Joe Biden in person. We arrived at Mehlville High School about 11:30. Joe spoke at 2:00. Everything went well and the wait wasn't long at all since there was so much excitement in the air. Kara, who now is student teaching at Oakville Senior High, scored big time and was able to sit in the second row with the Board of Education and teachers of each high school. Needless to say I was jealous but I was only a few rows behind her so I was pleased.

I knew my sister had good taste in friends. I actually live right next to Oakville HS in the condos next to the field. And my husband and I work the poll at the HS. I'm a supervisor and he is an asst. supervisor. I'm his boss:)
Most of school districts are closing that day because of the anticipated turnout. It will be busy.
They still are looking for workers if you know anyone that wants to work about 15hrs for about $6 an hour, but do their civic duty.
Kara is actually considering it - I will put the bug in her ear.
I also remember the horror story you placed on your blog about when of your poll workers - pretty amazing but that kind of stuff probably goes on more than we care to realize
There is the possibility of being put with people who are not too competent. Even though we have had 4 training sessions this year on how to do the paper work, etc., we got a letter saying that there are still supervisors who just can't get it right. But because they can't give people a test to see if they are competent and so few younger people will sign up to work, they have to take what they can get. At least being a supervisor, I know my paperwork will done properly, and with Steve working at the machines, I know I have at least one reliable person. I've been very lucky this year. I've had most of the same people every time and we work together very well.
